Studio Policy

Dance education encompasses far more than technique or the steps your child will learn. We believe the discipline of dance training gives young people a better understanding of commitment by offering them the chance to learn, experience the spirit of teamwork, and understand what hard work can accomplish. Our goal is to educate the minds, bodies, soles, and souls of our students, to teach them the skills needed for a successful life, whether or not they stay involved in dance.

Our faculty meets regularly to discuss our students' progress and placement. It is our policy to offer appropriate opportunities to every child. Placement decisions are derived from many years of teaching experience. Please trust our experience in this area. Concerns about your child’s placement should be intended for the Director’s consideration.

Dance is Discipline and as such begins with our attire and appearance. We require specific colors of leotards, tights and dance shoes for all classes. Please call our business office for clarification. We are lenient in our dress code requirements until October 1st, at which time all students are obligated to conform.

Our sessions run from September to June, and the month of August for all age levels. The P&R classes enjoy their own Pre-Ballet Showcase performances at the studio on the 1st Sunday of June each year.

Parents are not allowed in the studio classroom during ongoing classes. Even if you feel your child is anxious and does better with you near, please understand that your presence will distract your child as well as all of the other children. Be considerate of all the dancers and trust that we are experienced in our trade. We have 2 large viewing windows for parents to observe our students’ progress in all classes.

If your child is expected to be absent or late for any reason, please make a courtesy call to our office for notification. We ask that parents make every effort to bring your child to classes on time as often as possible to alleviate student stress when arriving late for an ongoing class.

We produce various fund-raiser performances and an annual spring revue. All dress rehearsals are closed to parents and observers so that we may construct an atmosphere as close to the actual performance as possible without distractions. Your child’s presence at all classes, rehearsals and performances is important. The spirit of teamwork and the lesson of dedication are a big part of our school’s education process.

All matters concerning tuition, payments and fees should be directed to our Office Manager. All remaining student and policy concerns should be addressed to the studio Director.
